A Partnership with History

Officially, Falco and his uncle Will have been a team since 2001, but their connection—both within and outside the pigeon sport—goes back even further. In 1994, they already raced together under Will’s name, while both were still relatively new to the sport. From the very beginning, they laid the foundation of their strain with pigeons from enthusiastic clubmates, heavily influenced by the legendary Verbart-46 line—a line that gained fame in Will and Falco’s club during the 1960s.

The First Foundation Pigeon: Roosje (NL03-2083516)

The absolute standout in that early period was Roosje, bred from a direct Arie van Beek pigeon (100% Janssen De Klak) and a descendant of Verbart 46. Roosje impressed with no fewer than six first prizes in large competitions, including the prestigious 1st NPO La Ferté Bernard against 5,503 pigeons—winning with a lead of six minutes.

Linus as the Primary Foundation

Among Roosje’s offspring, one stood out above all: Diablo (NL08-1241483), who won 1st NPO Morlincourt against 16,971 pigeons and later became the father of today’s key foundation pigeon Linus (NL16-1310994). Linus’ mother, Indy, originated (as an egg) from Ad Schaerlaeckens and won six first prizes herself, along with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions in NPO races. Linus secured four first prizes and, after his 1st national win from Châteaudun against 12,511 pigeons, was moved straight to the breeding loft.

Exceptional Offspring

Linus’ direct descendants include outstanding performers across all distances:

  • Pizza (NL20-1302163): First Olympiad pigeon middle-distance, National Ace Pigeon Allround (PIPA Ranking), National Ace Middle-Distance “De Allerbeste,” and several 1st prizes including 1st La Ferté St. Aubin (530 km) against 1,275 pigeons and 1st Gien (510 km) against 2,566 pigeons.

  • Pandemic (NL20-1302164): 5th National Ace Pigeon Speed “De Allerbeste” 2023, 8th in 2024… with no less than 19 x top 1% finishes and 7 x top 0.1%, including 4x 1st prizes in large competitions: 1st Prov. Chimay 9,272 pigeons, 1st Quievrain 4,729 pigeons, 1st Niergnies 2,665 pigeons, 1st Morlincourt 909 pigeons, and more.

  • Renee (NL22-8280514): 17th National Ace Yearling (PIPA Ranking)

  • Tsunami (NL24-8252919): 14th National Ace Young Bird (PIPA Ranking)

  • Salvador (NL23-9147666): 1st Provincial Ace Pigeon Natour

  • Suzy (NL23-9147665): 6 x top 30 Provincial

One Loft Race Exploits

Linus also proved himself internationally as a grandfather to winners in top finals of the Golden Winter (2023 & 2024) and the Derby Avirings (2023), clearly marking his influence on the future of pigeon racing.

Looking Ahead
In 2025, Will and Falco will continue steadily building around Linus and his proven crosses with lines from Fernand Mariën, Peter Janssen, Bas Verkerk, and Ad Schaerlaeckens. With respect for the past and a focus on innovation, they aim to develop a healthy, winning strain poised for continued success in the years to come.
