2-4-8-9-16-29 vs. 7,484 Pigeons & Best Average Points Result in Our Federation!

This past Saturday, we achieved another fantastic result in the third middle-distance race of the season. Competing against 7,484 pigeons, we started with 2-4-8-9-16-29 (combined lofts). For the fourth week in a row, we've placed pigeons in the top 8 against over 7,000 birds from the loft of Combinatie Ebben. The earliest arrivals this week were clocked at the loft of W. & F. Ebben.

In addition to these early birds, both lofts recorded strong overall series:

W. & F. Ebben

Reims, 7,484 pigeons, 311 km – 24 pigeons entered, 23 prizes won:
2-4-29-80-82-106-140-212-288-318-346-399-478-484-579-734, etc.

That translates to:
– 3 x Top 1% = 12%
– 16 x Top 10% = 66%
– 23 x Top 33% = 95%

This resulted in the best loft performance in federation (85 fanciers).

Combinatie Ebben

Reims, 7,484 pigeons, 312 km – 27 pigeons entered, 22 prizes won:
8-9-16-46-76-124-181-226-303-359-369-376-400-620, etc.

That translates to:
– 3 x Top 1% = 11%
– 14 x Top 10% = 51%
– 22 x Top 25% = 81%

This resulted in the third-best loft performance in federation, after having claimed first place three weeks in a row.

This weekend, the first long-distance (day-fond) race from Gien is scheduled. Unfortunately, the wind is shifting to a southwesterly direction, meaning the birds will have a tailwind for a change. We generally prefer headwinds, but as long as the race isn’t too fast, our birds should also be able to perform at top level with the wind behind them — especially over 500 kilometers.
