"Spartacus" is truly one in a million. In the prestigious AS Golden Race in Greece, he accomplished the extraordinary: winning both the semi-final and the final — a feat rarely, if ever, seen in one-loft racing.
In the semi-final, a group of 11 pigeons arrived together, but Spartacus was the first to clock in, reaching a speed of 1207 meters per minute. Sometimes, a little luck plays a part — but performance is what counts. That race was also a huge success for our loft, with 7 pigeons in the top 20 — an almost unprecedented result in this type of competition.
But the final was where Spartacus truly made history. He didn't just win — he dominated, finishing with a jaw-dropping 28-minute lead over the second pigeon. A performance that will be remembered for years to come — made even more remarkable considering his earlier semi-final victory.
It’s no surprise we were determined to bring Spartacus back home. He was auctioned on PIPA for a substantial amount — enough to buy a brand-new car. But we didn’t hesitate. Whatever it took, Spartacus was coming back to us. And in May 2024, he returned to our loft.
He wasted no time proving his worth in the breeding loft. In the semi-final of the AS Golden Winter 2025, one of his first youngsters already secured 19th place — a strong sign of what’s to come.
