On March 28, Jelle Jellema achieved a strong performance by taking 4th place in the first final of the Derby Carmelo Yupi One Loft Race in Spain, over a distance of approximately 500 kilometers. In an international field of competitors and under conditions where everything has to come together, this is a result that certainly stands out.

The pigeon is a direct son of “Mads”, a proven racer and breeder in the loft of Jelle Jellema. On the dam’s side, the pigeon originates from a hen bred by us, coming from a line that has been specifically developed around performances in One Loft Races.

The dam is a daughter of top breeder “Nanne”, a cock that has clearly proven his value within international One Loft Racing. He is, among others, the grandfather of the 1st Extra Final AviRings, the 19th Final Pattaya, and the 2nd Final Thailand Masters. This places him among a select group of breeders that consistently produce pigeons capable of performing under demanding and varying conditions.

“Nanne” is paired to a daughter from the combination “Hannibal” x “Katja”. With this pairing, Frans Strikker has built a large part of his successful loft. In addition, “Katja” is the mother of our top performers “Pizza” and “Pandemic”, confirming the strength and reliability of this line within our own breeding program. For the pedigree click here.

In One Loft Races, the true value of breeding often becomes very clear. The fancier submits the pigeon, but from that moment onward everything is in the hands of the organization. Training, care, and management take place outside the home loft. What remains is the genetic foundation — and that foundation plays a decisive role when performances are delivered at a high level.

For us, this result once again confirms that strong performances rarely happen by coincidence. They are usually the result of years of selection based on performance, health, and character, and of consistently building on lines that continue to prove their value.
