On May 2nd, Frans Strikker from Hengelo achieved an outstanding result from Marche-en-Famenne, a race of 244 kilometers for his loft. His hen NL24-8145760 won 1st prize against 2,811 pigeons and also claimed 4th against no fewer than 18,432 pigeons in the larger competition.

The overall team performance was equally impressive. Frans clocked 19 prizes from 23 entries, earning him 2nd Grandmaster in the federation and 4th in Kring Noord-Oost.

What makes this result even more special is that Frans races exclusively with pigeons originating from our loft. Once again, this winning hen represents several of the proven performance lines from our colony.

The father of the winner is “New Merlin”, a direct son of “Merlijn” x “Kamilah”. He is also the sire of “Always”, currently the best pigeon on the Strikker loft. “Always” won two first prizes against more than 8,000 pigeons and was crowned 1st Ace Pigeon Sprint Division 9.

On the dam’s side we find some of our best-known bloodlines as well. The mother of the winner is a direct daughter from the super pairing “Linus” x “Katja”, making her a full sister to both “Pandemic” and “Olympic Pizza”, two pigeons that have already proven themselves at the highest level.

Earlier this season, the 24-760 had already shown her qualities by being the first arrival from Velden. At Tongeren she was most likely also the loft’s first pigeon, although unfortunately the timing system failed that day. For the pedigree click here.
