Another Strong Performance in the AS Golden Race Extra Final

Hieronder een aangepaste versie waarin de samenwerking met de satelliethokken is verwerkt:

Just two weeks after the final, the AS Golden Race organized its Extra Final on May 29. Once again, our pigeons managed to perform at a very high level.

Against 289 activated pigeons we achieved the following positions:

7 - 13 - 32 - 43 - 76 - 81

What makes this result even more satisfying is that the first 30 pigeons from the main final, including five of our own pigeons, were excluded from participation in the Extra Final. Despite that disadvantage, our remaining team still managed to compete at the very front of the result sheet.

We had 12 pigeons activated for this race, and no fewer than 9 of them finished in the first third of the result, another indication of the overall strength and consistency of the team.

Proven Bloodlines Again

Our first arrived pigeon is a nestmate to the pigeon that won 21st prize in the Final. Both originate from a pairing that continues to produce excellent One Loft Race performers.

The sire is a direct pigeon from the loft of Jelle Jellema, paired to a daughter of our proven breeders Odar x Mable. Several top-performing pigeons on demanding One Loft Race events have already emerged from this combination, confirming once again the value of these bloodlines.

The pigeon that won 13th prize had already performed strongly earlier in the season and once again showed its class in this race. Consistency is often one of the most important qualities in One Loft Racing, and this pigeon certainly demonstrated that throughout the competition.

Working Together With Satellite Lofts

For our One Loft Race program, we currently work with two satellite lofts. One team races under the name Team Ebben-Nys, in cooperation with Monick Nys, while the other races under the name Ebben-van Benten, in cooperation with Arno van Benten.

From this season onwards, Arno will continue the project together with his brother-in-law Dick de Leeuw. The partnership with us will therefore continue under the name Team Ebben-Renkum.

The concept behind these partnerships is straightforward. The satellite lofts breed and raise the youngsters, while we supply the breeding stock. As a result, all pigeons remain 100% Ebben bloodlines. The name of the satellite loft breeder may appear on the pedigree, but the genetic background originates entirely from our own breeding loft.

Depth Rather Than One Exceptional Pigeon

Looking back at both the Final and the Extra Final, what stands out most is not an individual result, but the depth of performance throughout the team. Even after five of our best-placed final pigeons were excluded from participation, the remaining pigeons still managed to compete for top positions.

For us, that is perhaps the strongest indication that these results are not based on one exceptional pigeon, but on families that repeatedly perform under demanding conditions. Year after year, and race after race, the same bloodlines continue to return to the top of the results.
